What To Expect

As a portrait artist, I take time and care in producing imagery that meets the needs of my client. My goal is to produce honest and iconic images of you as a person, and strategic images of you as a creative entrepreneur in order to help elevate your image.

Through the creative consultation process, together we will make a plan for your session and discuss wardrobe, prop, and location styling options. I will learn about your personal and professional values and your unique vibe so the resultant images will be true to your style.

For those who come in for a portrait session in my calm and bright portrait studio, be prepared for a full experience… You may even step a little out of your comfort zone - in a safe space. As a body neutral artist, I invite each client to leave fear and anxiety at the door. We’re here to honor the YOU who is, today. And we’re going to invite them to shine bright!

Who gets to gatekeep beauty ideals and why have we given them so much power over us?

My hair and makeup artists speak many style languages; experienced in everything from completely natural beauty to full-glam drama. Our work at Zing Studio Sherwood usually falls somewhere between the extremes, aiming for natural-looking hair and makeup styling (or male grooming) to add a refined polish to your images and take the preparation burden off your shoulders - so you can focus on what snacks you’ll bring in with you to the studio.

As a photographer with more than 15 years of experience, I am well versed in coaching people into posing and expressions that look great and inspire confidence. I love to invite the juxtapositions of our humanity to the table. You might be a kickass organizational strategist, but how’s your cross-country skiing game? Maybe you conduct a major symphony orchestra - what do you dream about at night? I care. Somehow, this adds some of the magic into the image-making process.

Once our session together is complete, we will go through your images together and decide which images make the cut and which ones find their way to the delete pile. We will hone in on the very best images and get them ready for your launch, refresh, or uplevel. Prepare to impress yourself!
